Boasting a nine-story, 562,000-square-foot structure, this $256 million marvel features 240 beds and was successfully completed in 2022.

Nestled beside the hospital, a state-of-the-art cancer and ambulatory center, along with various healthcare facilities, contribute to fostering research, healthcare services, and educational opportunities within the community.

In collaboration with the Lansing-based Christman Company, Barton Malow undertook a joint venture to provide comprehensive construction management services for the entire Corporate Research Park Campus. This partnership is set to welcome over 1,000 physicians, research professionals, and educators to the new facilities, solidifying McLaren Greater Lansing as a hub for medical excellence.

Community engagement lies at the heart of our approach to construction. In May 2018, McLaren Health initiated a community input survey, seeking valuable insights for the hospital’s design. This inclusive strategy allowed the public to voice their suggestions, enabling Barton Malow, alongside the owner and architect, to seamlessly integrate community needs into both the design and construction phases.

To ensure project success in the face of tight timelines and manpower challenges, Barton Malow leveraged Lean construction practices. From the preconstruction phase through execution, our team strategically employed prefabrication methods, resulting in a remarkable 25% reduction of on-site MEP trades. This not only streamlined the project schedule but also accelerated construction by two months, demonstrating our commitment to efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
