The new Atlanta Braves Spring Training complex CoolToday Park includes a 6,500 fixed-seat stadium with 2,500 general admission spots, a team clubhouse, training facilities, offices, a sports medicine academy, six practice baseball fields and two half-fields, five soccer, and multi-use fields, a parking lot and other features on a square-shaped plot of land. The stadium’s outfield is similar to the Brave’s home stadium in Truist Park, which was also built by Barton Malow and project partners. For this project, we partnered with local firm, Tandem Construction to build this new multi-use complex for Sarasota County and the Atlanta Braves. Barton Malow also performed concrete self-perform services on this project.

Exceeding Cost + Schedule Expectations

Barton Malow was able to exceed its cost-reduction target by more than $68,000. Over $12 million of potential cost was removed for the client’s benefit without materially changing design intent or facility operation.

Construction on CoolToday Park started as Barton Malow poured the first stadium footing in January 2018 and was completed in time for the team to play in their new spring home for opening day in March 2019.

From spring training at CoolToday Park to the World Series at Truist, Barton Malow’s portfolio of work in baseball covers it all.
