Along with Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, the Maryland Stadium Authority, and the Town of Ocean City, we recently cut the ribbon on the Roland E. Powell Convention Center expansion in Ocean City, Maryland. Barton Malow broke ground on the expansion in April 2020.
The Phase III expansion project included increasing overall capacity by adding a 15,000-SF Bayfront Gallery leading to a 30,000-SF Hall C adjacent to existing Halls A and B; upgrading support space; renovating existing meeting rooms; and adding parking to support the expanded facility. The loading dock was also significantly expanded to support the increase in capacity.
While this kicks off a new era for the Convention Center, its existing event halls have been fully operational throughout the duration of construction.
