USGBC Virginia announced the 10 finalists for its 2020 Leadership Awards, which recognize the top projects located in the USGBC Virginia region that have achieved LEED certification. Among the 10 finalists are four Barton Malow projects, including Bonnycastle, Kent/Dabney, Consolidated Science Research Facility (Davis Hall) – Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS), and the University of Virginia New Cabell Hall.
Bonnycastle and Kent/Dabney are a part of the McCormick Road Houses Renovation project at the University of Virginia and earned Silver and Gold LEED certification, respectively. In addition to those projects, the University of Virginia also has two other finalists nominated, including the New Cabell Hall renovations, which achieved Gold LEED certification. Rounding out the list is the Consolidated Science Research Facility (Davis Hall), which was completed in 2018 and became the first LEED-certified building on the Virginia Institute of Marine Science’s campus with Gold LEED certification.
The winners will be announced virtually during USGBC Virginia’s annual Leadership Awards Program on June 25.
