At the request of the Lansing Board of Water and Light (LBWL), Lansing Power Constructors – a Barton Malow Company/Clark Construction joint venture – proved capacity to provide power to the grid on the Delta Energy Park project in Lansing, Michigan, on Friday, May 28, six months earlier than initially scheduled.
When the team received the request in November 2020, the status of the plant systems required for operation was roughly 20-25% complete. The team navigated unpredictable weather and implemented several creative solutions to complete the construction and commissioning of the remaining 75-80% of the required systems in six months.
When complete, Delta Energy Park will serve as the largest utility in Michigan to generate coal-free power and reduce carbon emissions by up to 80%.
