Barton Malow Director of Continuous Improvement Jeff Creighton has been appointed the 2020 Lean Construction Institute (LCI) committee chair. As chair, Creighton will lead the LCI Annual Congress in its annual event that features continuing education credits, cutting-edge Lean methods, and networking opportunities, all working towards the LCI’s overall mission of transforming a broken design and construction industry through Lean thinking, tools, and techniques.
“The LCI Annual Congress is an excellent opportunity for the industry to come together, learn, and share stories of Lean successes and challenges,” says Creighton. “I’m honored to have such a diverse and talented group of Lean advocates aligned and ready to make the 2020 LCI Annual Congress a success.”
Creighton, who has more than 25 years of experience in the industry, began his career in project delivery as a journeyman ironworker and foreman with Ironworkers Local #25 as well as project management before transitioning to benchmarking and Lean construction management. At Barton Malow, he works within project controls, focusing on field operations to enhance and deliver high-value construction services. He is a prominent leader of the Michigan Lean Construction Institute Community of Practice.
The 2020 LCI Annual Congress is scheduled for October 19-23, 2020, at the TCF Center in Detroit.
