Barton Malow has announced that Maryanne Foster, Larry Arndt, and Marisa Varga have been promoted to Vice President in their respective entities within the Barton Malow Enterprise. Additionally, Joe Benvenuto has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer of Barton Malow’s LIFTbuild division.
Maryanne Foster has been appointed Vice President of Risk Management for Barton Malow Holdings, which oversees Barton Malow’s commercial and institutional division (Builders) and its union-based industrial contractor (Company). Maryanne began at Barton Malow in April 2019 after nearly 12 years with Plunkett & Cooney, P.C., and previously served as its Senior Director of Risk Management. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Pre-Law from Michigan State University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.
Larry Arndt has more than 30 years of experience in the design and construction industry and has led some of Barton Malow’s most complex healthcare programs in Michigan, Colorado, and Florida since joining the enterprise in 2018. As a Vice President in Barton Malow Builders, Larry will lead Barton Malow’s South Region, which includes all Florida operations. Larry holds a master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Bradley University and performed post-graduate research in environmental engineering at the University of Texas.
Marisa Varga, CPSM, LEED AP, will lead business strategy as Vice President of Barton Malow Builders. Marisa has worked in the construction industry since graduating from Michigan State University in 2001 and has been with Barton Malow since May 2005. In 18 years at Barton Malow, Marisa has served in a variety of leadership roles, including Marketing, Business Development, Preconstruction, LIFTbuild, and Business Strategy. She also earned an MBA in Project Management from Lawrence Technological University.
Joe Benvenuto has been with Barton Malow since 1999 and is currently leading construction on the multi-use Exchange project in downtown Detroit, the first development being built using LIFTbuild’s innovative top-down technology. Before his promotion to Chief Operating Officer of Barton Malow’s LIFTbuild division, he served as a Vice President of LIFTbuild. Joe began in Barton Malow’s self-perform division and worked his way up to Vice President of Barton Malow Company and then LIFTbuild prior to being named COO.
