Barton Malow has elevated experienced builder Shelten Vieau to the role of Project Executive for Barton Malow Builders. In this role, he will oversee Barton Malow’s engagement with Vanderbilt Athletics and set strategic direction for the Nashville office.
“Much of our success as an enterprise can be attributed to putting the right people in a position to steward our growth,” said Craig Eckert, Senior Director of Barton Malow’s Central Region. “Shelten’s deep industry expertise and leadership qualities made this promotion a no-brainer.”
Experienced Builder
Shelten has more than 20 years of construction experience. He joined Barton Malow in August 2000 and has spent his entire career with the firm. Shelten started as a Field Engineer, serving in various roles for the organization throughout his tenure. He’s worked on many notable projects, including the University of Michigan Football Stadium and Michigan State University’s (MSU) Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB). In 2019, Shelten joined the Nashville office as a Senior Project Manager, a post he held until his promotion to Project Executive.
Aligned with Barton Malow’s core values, Shelten is passionate about positively impacting the communities where he works. While working on the FRIB project, Shelten organized a golf outing to support MSU’s physics department. The event raised $50,000.
Shelten will receive his bachelor’s degree in independent studies with a minor in construction management from Eastern Michigan University in December.
