Barton Malow’s Community Engagement team was recently honored with a pair of awards recognizing its commitment to supplier diversity in construction.
On Tuesday, September 24, Barton Malow was recognized as the “Best in Class” winner at the 19th Annual Great Lakes Women’s Business Council Excellence in Supplier Diversity Awards Ceremony Luncheon, held at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, Michigan. The “Best in Class” recognition is the highest-level award, and indicates Barton Malow’s excellence six categories: leadership, sourcing, capacity building, communications & training, and advocacy of Women Business Enterprises (WBEs).
Barton Malow was also honored with the “Corporation of the Year – Construction” award by the Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council (MMSDC) at the 36th Annual ACE Awards Ceremony, held Friday, October 4, also at the Suburban Collection Showplace. The ACE Awards annually honor Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) and corporations for their commitment to minority supplier development and their support of minority-owned businesses. Barton Malow is a repeat winner in the “Corporation of the Year – Construction” award, which acknowledges a corporation that actively includes certified minority suppliers in its procurement opportunities, assists in the development of minority suppliers, and promotes supplier diversity and business development within its corporation and with its vendors and other organizations.
Barton Malow has consistently demonstrated a commitment to assisting the development of disadvantaged businesses as well as minority-owned and women-owned businesses, and these two awards are further evidence of this.
