Our 8th annual Community Week event was a success! From Monday, August 2 to Friday, August 6, we volunteered across two countries, 16 states, and 36 cities. With 75 in-person, four skills-based, and eight virtual volunteer opportunities, we continued to positively impact the communities where we live, work, and play. It was a successful and fun week, and with 670 volunteers, we reached a total of 3,550 hours of service.
In August of 2014, Barton Malow marked its 90th anniversary by expanding the role of the Barton Malow Foundation and its presence in the community. One of the new charitable initiatives that stemmed from this was Community Day, a day that allowed team members to donate their service and time as generous and compassionate community members where they work, live, and play. Since then, Community Day has expanded into Community Week.
