Senior Vice President, Energy + Industrial
As Senior Vice President of Energy and Industrial, Matt has played a crucial role in guiding Barton Malow into the renewable energy sector, leveraging his knowledge and experience earned over more than two decades in the construction industry. Matt began his career as a Millwright in the Union Building Trades, Local 1102, and since joining Barton Malow in 1998, he has held a variety of roles within the organization and partners with leadership to develop the overall mission, values, and strategic goals.
Under Matt’s leadership, Barton Malow became one of the first Michigan construction companies to enter the “One Gigawatt Club” in December 2021, solidifying itself as a leader in the renewable energy market. His commitment to safety drives his approach to planning and executing department and market-specific strategies, as well as directing management-level team members. In 2023, Matt was recognized for his exceptional contributions by Crain’s Detroit Business, naming him to the list of Notable Leaders in Energy.
Matt is a board member of The Metropolitan Affairs Coalition (MAC) for Southeast Michigan, has served as a member of the AGC Bargaining Committee for Operating Engineers, serves on the Barton Malow Minority Business Enterprise Community as a mentor, Barton Malow’s Labor Relations Council, and is a member of DTE Energy’s Supplier Diversity Council.
