Barton Malow Company Receives AGC's In the Community Award

Southfield, MI – April 11, 2016 – Barton Malow Company recently received an In the Community Award during the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) Annual Convention in San Antonio, Texas. AGC created the award in 2009 to recognize member companies for their service projects that epitomize the essence of charitable giving through hands-on service and donations to charitable organizations.

Barton Malow’s Community Week concept started in 2014 as a one-day, company-wide opportunity for all staff to volunteer in celebration of the Company’s 90th anniversary. Since then, it has expanded to an annual event including a full week’s worth of volunteer activities that employees across the country can take part in on Company time. In 2015, 400 of our employees and leaders volunteered together at 20 different non-profit organizations for Community Week.

Collectively, we served multiple communities through our hard work sorting, packaging and serving food; cleaning dorms, playgrounds, rivers, warehouses, and floats; sorting and delivering donated clothes, toys and home goods; building homes; reading to and playing games with children; pitching hay; painting; and more. Barton Malow’s Foundation also made monetary donations to the organizations that we served.
